In this presentation, you’ll discover what a mushroom spore is and the journey of growing mushrooms from spore to harvest. Samples will include different kinds of mushrooms and various tools of the trade for growing. I’ll also give a quick and easy demonstration of putting together an oyster mushroom bucket that anyone can do.

I am a Bay Area transplant to these beautiful Yuba Foothills and have been here since 2008. I had been a stay at home father helping to raise 2 wonderful children and I always wanted to farm. I learned what I could by trial and error, and through internet searches. Since arriving in the Foothills, I’ve taken up the hobby that’s been brewing in me for a long time, and lo and behold, Toadstool Mushrooms was born. It has helped me realize my dream of being a small local farmer cultivating gourmet mushrooms. And now I want to share my experiences with you.
