It’s time to dust off your dancing shoes (and maybe some gardening gloves) because the Yuba Foothills Food & Water Festival is back for its second round – and it’s gonna be even tastier than last year! Mark your calendars for September 28th & 29th, because the heart of the Yuba Foothills is about to explode with deliciousness.
Day 1 at the Alcouffe Center is all about supporting your local heroes: farmers, chefs, artisans, wellness gurus, and even some amazing non-profits. Think booths overflowing with fresh produce, homemade goodies, and enough good vibes to fuel a bonfire. Local vendors apply here today!
But wait, there’s more! Day 2 takes things to the next level with workshops and tours at YES Charter Academy. Dive into the world of soil & health, the Yuba Watershed, fruit tree growing, cheese making, beekeeping and Jadam composting. Plus, tastings with master producers? Sign us up!

This festival is all about celebrating the incredible community we have here in the Yuba Foothills. It’s a chance to connect with your neighbors, discover hidden gems, and, of course, stuff your face with delicious, locally-sourced food and drinks.
So, what are you waiting for? Grab your reusable tote bag, your thirst for knowledge, and your appetite for adventure. We can’t wait to see you there!
P.S. Don’t forget to share this post and spread the word! The more the merrier (and the more food we can all share). And if you wish to be a sponsor of the event, take a look at the packages available here – your support is ever appreciated! Like and follow the official Facebook Page for updates!

✨ 2024 Festival Recap ✨
Thanks for making the Second Annual Yuba Foothills Food & Water Festival a Success! The sun has set on the 2nd Annual Yuba Foothills Food & Water Festival, and what a spectacular weekend it was! We’re still buzzing with the energy of delicious food, engaging workshops, 3 amazing live bands, and the incredible sense of community that filled the air.A Heartfelt Thank YouThis wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of our incredible volunteers, from YES and YFACA crew to workshop presenters. They spent countless hours planning, setting up, and ensuring everything ran smoothly. A huge shout-out to each and every one of them!
We also want to express our deep gratitude to our amazing sponsors, whose generous support made this festival a reality, including:
Celebrating Our CommunityA special round of applause goes to all the talented vendors who brought our vision to life. Your delicious food, unique crafts, and passion for local produce made the festival a true feast for the senses. We’re committed to showcasing your expertise and fostering a thriving “local-first” movement in the Yuba Foothills.
Farmers’ RoundtableSteven Dambeck put the Yuba foothills on the map inviting so many food and farming dignitaries from CDFA, Chico State, UC Davis, Community Alliance of Family Farmers and more.
This was a beautifully facilitated Q &A by Olivia Henry from UCCE between those whose job it is to support local farmers and the farmers themselves. Local wisdom and insights were provided by an engaged audience and we look forward to continuing this discussion and bringing to life some of the ideas considered.
Farmers’ Appreciation Dinner
A huge thank you to Chef Paul Ladeira, the event organizer Tatiana Kaiser and YES principal and event host Louise Miller. A memorable, music and dance filled celebration of our local farmers to let them know how much we appreciate their hard work. This feast was for them!Special Host: YES Charter Academy
YES stepped up for both days and Louise Miller reminded us how active YES has become as a food hub in the foothills and an innovative leader in the California Schools Farm to Fork world.
A big thanks to the YES Council and staff (thank you Debbie, BreAnne & Charity and teams!) who made this event run so smoothly and raise the standards to such a professional level.

✨ 2023 Festival Recap ✨
We did it! Even the rain came to dance and play on Saturday, September 31st at the Alcouffe Center festival grove (after all it is a Water festival). Then as the clouds parted the following morning attendees gathered at YES Charter Academy for a day of peer-led workshops and community building. The overall feeling in the end was that the first annual Food & Water Festival was a resounding success!

Thank you to our volunteers – We have to shout out to all the folks that stepped up to volunteer with us, they spent countless hours in meetings, on the phone, answering emails and spreading enthusiasm for this project ever since our first picnics in summer. We couldn’t have done this without them!

Thank you to our sponsors – Special thanks to our Ocean sponsor Yuba Water Agency who has boosted our spirits since event inception, to DOHIF for embracing this crazy idea, and to all the amazing sponsors who contributed and believed in what this festival represents for the community:

Hats off to our vendors – We love them! They grow and provide nutritious & delicious foothill food and we know it’s not easy. This was for them. A grand attempt to bring them lots of business, local support and have an enjoyable weekend. We want to continue to showcase them and market their products to the growing Yuba Foothills local-first community. Follow our vendors on Facebook and continue to support them!

In the news – The festival was covered twice by the local newspaper. Our gratitude goes out to Shamaya Sutton at Appeal Dem for her in-depth reporting of the event vision here and her in-person account of the workshop day at YES here.

Share the love! – Tell a friend about the next Festival, let them know what we’re up to! And please share your photos and experiences of the 2023 festival to our Facebook page. Let’s show the world what we’re doing out here!

Let’s keep it growing – Stay tuned to our website and Facebook Page in the coming weeks for updates on future events. Wishing you all a bountiful harvest and a fulfilling fall season,
The Food & Water Festival Planning Team
