Participants will taste wildflower and varietal honeys and learn to identify honey flavors using the UC Davis Honey & Pollination Center Honey Flavor Wheel. Participants will learn what honey is and how and why bees make honey. They will take away an appreciation for the importance of bees and simple steps to sustaining a healthy environment for bees.
Louise Miller
Louise Miller is an aficionado of bees and honey and was a contributor to the UC Davis Honey & Pollination Center Honey Flavor Wheel. She trained in identifying honey origins by flavor and aroma as well as landscaping and agricultural practices to attract and support bees. She appreciates honey on buttered toast and honey’s medicinal uses.
